ISSUE SUMMARY:hello,i am using jomsocial 3.2.x for my site, and i have customized the sites template to fit the purpose of the site, please how do i upgrade to the latest version of the jomsocial without loosing my customization and also ensuring that the customization works perfectly well with the latest version of jomsocial, please i will like you to visit my sites url inorder to understand the customization proper.please i need a response ASAP.

Hi.

Well, changing from 3.2 to 4 is not an upgrade but rather a migration. Your customizations (overrides) will not work with JomSocial 4 as they ware made for 3.2.

So you'll need to implement them again in clear JS 4 layouts.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

i actually hired a developer to customized the site for me, please can i implement the customization again myself in js4 layouts or do i have to hire another developer again to help me do that?

Please, note that we don't work at weekends...

If you have enough php skills you may implement customizations yourself... if you know how and where. Honestly I can't answer your question as I don't know how skilled you are and what kind of customizations you have.

For sure customizations done in JS 3 need to be re-implemented in JS 4. Previous overrides will not work or even cause issues with version 4.
