ISSUE SUMMARY:
Switching from FaLang to built-in Joomla Multilanguage, Jomsocial component is no longer translating to Spanish. This can be seen by switching to Espanol, then clicking on "Registrate" for registration page. Page is not translated.
Additionally, once logged in through frontend, switching from EN/ES on My Social/Mi Social or any page in the JS toolbar results in being sent back to landing page.
Hi, Geoff.
I don't know if FaLang supports JomSocial - you should ask FaLang develoeprs.
But for sure there is a way to set JomSocial in multilingual mode. Please, read this:
documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Complet...in_multilingual_mode
Hi, GHeoff.
Oh, I'm sorry I misunderstood...
So you followed our documentation straight?
Your issue apply to main or dev site?
The issue applies to main site.
When i switch EN/ES on JomSocial Home menu type it does not switch, it is only english. If I switch EN/ES on Jomsocial Advanced Search menu type or members menu type it works fine. The problem appears to be with the newsfeed page.
Hi, Geoff.
I can't do a deeper investigation of your issue as I get error on your site:
prntscr.com/6yoc0k
Also I checked your site menu configuration and you didn't followed our documentation this I can't guarantee that multilingual mode will properly work on your site.
To get right result please, follow our documentation strictly:
documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Complet...in_multilingual_mode
As for now you have TWO JomSocial frontpage menu items - Joomla! will use lower menu item ID of them two to display ALL jomSocial pages so you may expect issues (as language setting is assigned to menu item ID).
Thanks Michal,
I believe I have corrected the 500 error you were receiving, you should be able to browse the site now. I have reconfigured the menu structure according to your article, and purged all sh404sef URLs that may have interfered.
At this point the issue is still occurring. Would you be able to assist again?
Hi, Geoff.
I cleared your site cache and now:
- I switched site language to Spanish
- then clicked "Registrate"
- result:
prntscr.com/707rwx
page is correctly translated.
As for first issue - you're right. After clicking on flag you're redirected to default language page. I'll report this to our developers.
Hi, Geoff.
Correction - this does work on my test site:
www.prolusatia.nazwa.pl/test/_tests/new_3
u: test
p: test12
I checked your site few times... disabling sh404sef... I have no clue why this doesn't work...
I assign developer to also take a look here.
Hi, Geoff.
sorry, I cant replicate the issue. maybe I missing something.
www.screencast.com/t/tc2SKSDpwFq
but for language handler, that handling by joomla it self. becuase jomsocial running under joomla.
maybe you can report your issue at:
forum.joomla.org/
Regards
This screencast perfectly replicates the issue.
As you see, when you are on English JomSocial frontpage feed, when you select a different language it takes you to language default page, instead of translated Espanol Jomsocial frontpage feed.
Hi Geoff,
that the joomla way, we cant do anything.
1. you are on English home page and navigate to jomsocial frontpage
2. you select other language
3. you will redirect to default page (site home page), not stay at jomsocial frontpage
4. if you navigate to jomsocial frontpage, the language will stay at other language
the redirect handle by joomla. jomsocial doesn't dealing with that, becuase jomsocial runing unde joomla, and the language plugin belongs to joomla.
Regards.
That's not true at all. Other 3rd party components work perfectly well with menu associations.
Jomsocial Frontpage link is not functioning with the menu association. Jomsocial Friends link will work with a menu association.
Hi Geoff,
please check it. I dont know what happen, I just tried it again. but the issue already gone.
