The new Jomsocial strips all Jomsocial from the site. There is no teampage, profile page access...nothing. Once I installed it, Jomsocial visually seemed to not exist. I even tried to access it from the direct item id link.
I tried disabling 3rd party extensions, cleared cache, I checked my sh404sef and purged all of the links...nothing worked.
I followed the steps you list here
www.jomsocial.com/blog/js4-rc1
In order to get the site back up again, I reinstalled the previous JS version and everything reappeared.
What is the solution to this?
Hi Felicia,
how to access joomla backend? I always redirected to frontend after login.
I think you need to resetup, main menu item for jomsocial.
if I visit directly:
http://[site domain]/component/community/?lang=en
I can see jomsocial page there.
Regards
I am not sure where you are logging into. I was able to log into my Joomla backend with the same credentials I provided to you. sitedomain/administrator
There is no redirect to the frontend. Please try again. If you need further info, you will need to send me a private message so that credentials are not posted in this open forum.
Thank you.
Also, I would like to mention that since I reinstalled the previous version, there is an error
"Could not instantiate mail function." that shows on the frontend every time someone logs into the site.
I do not know what it means, but it was not there before. Please advise.
Hi Felicia,
I saw your site not properly setup:

I have verified that my template is fine and up to date.
I have also verified with our host that the issue is definately a Jomsocial issue and not a site issue, all other plugins are working properly and are up to date.
I have also removed the new version of Jomsocial and reverted back to the version that was previously working. Now when a user logs into their profile, they redirect to someone elses profile, and simultaneously asked to log in again via a Jomsocial popup module. So on their screen, they see another user's profile with a login screen over it.
Previously you made changes to the toolbar and I am asking you not to change it again...it makes things worse. I have tried uninstalling JS and reinstalling, however that doesn't seem to be issue. I am really nervous about the security of our site with JS installed on it. This problem keeps getting worse, but again I keep stressing that none of this was happening before I tried to upgrade to version JS 4. Prior to that, there were Zero issues.
I have had to take the site offline to avoid users accessing another user's profile. This site is used for staff to login to it and we need to get it back online securely ASAP. I am asking that someone realling look at it this time and give me very specific and detailed instructions on how to fix it please. For instance if I log into user danmob92 profile with password TeamSphynx1, it opens the Super Admin profile user SphynxMP. This is very frightening.
Please log into the admin sphynxmp.com/administrator with the login credentials I previously provided. If you need to make the site live, please do so, but remember to take it back offline once you finish testing.
Thanks.
