After upgrade can't post an activity - can comment / like

I've upgraded to 4.0.1 and am running socialize RC1 - looks great just i can't post anything.

i can like and comment just can't post - any ideas what i should do - i've disabled everything and used the default template but still getting the same issue..

n.b. - i've not deployed this to the live environment as I wanted to test it prior to going live and so the issue isn't on the live site it's just on the beta site.

Please provide us working administrator credentials.
I can't login to your site backend.
Please, edit your first post and add credentials to corresponding fields.

- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

i found the issue - it's askimet - i disabled that and it's all working as it should be now..

is that a known bug?

No one has reported such an issue before... maybe no one used Akismet with JomSocial 4...
I'll report it to our developers.

Please, post steps to replicate that issue in this manner:

EXAMPLE OF A GOOD BUG REPORT:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

Login as a regular user
Navigate to your own profile
Hover cursor over the profile's avatar photo
Click the camera button that appears
Click on big blue upload button to select the image for upload

RESULT:
Uploading goes fine, but modal window does not expand uploaded image to allow avatar cropping.

EXPECTED RESULT:
I expect to be able to crop avatar after upload.

OCCURS ON:
Joomla 2.5.28 + JomSocial 4 on Firefox
Joomla 3.3.6 + JomSocial 4 on Safari

TEMPLATE:
Gavik Publisher

OPERATING SYSTEM:
Windows 7, Mac, Linux

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

Ensure Askimet is configured in the administrator section

Login as any user
Try to send a status update

RESULT

Page refreshes but no status update

EXPECTED RESULT

Status updated added to stream

OCCURS ON

Joomla 3.4.0 with Jomsocial 4.0.1 on Firefox/Chrome/Safari/IE (All browsers that I tested)

TEMPLATE

Socialise 2 RC1

No screenshots to show, turning of Askiment and it immediately starts working.
