I continue to struggle with update from J1.5 to 3+. More reason for me to keep things up to date from here on. I did the sp update of the database last night and that took more than 4 hours of waiting. In my admin of the upgrade folder/site I installed Jomsocial 3.2.1.6 and the the updating Jomsocial Database page appeared. it is now one hour that the page is staying on "Waiting" Please see the image. the blue candycane is spinning. do you have an idea of how long this will take?

please have a look table [prefix]_community_config, seem there is duplicated name on that table data. if any, please delete it.
if you still cant find it, I need valid administrator access detail and cpanel/phpmyadmin

Thanks for the quick reply, We are starting over with the sp upgrade process but one other issue is we can not see avatars event though the files and reference number are there?

it turned out to be the majic quotes. I couldnt change the php and mysql settings in any way . I found a thread that advised adding a file .user.ini with the same attempt that was in the php.ini and that made it work. I note that after the min requirements wer met the process took less than 2 min to complete. prior I waited an hour looking at the blue candy cane spin.
