Hello just installed jomsocial on my site. front end seems to work ok but get 500 external errors on admin side;

www.vdubsocial.com/index.php/jomsocial front end seems ok?

admin configuration tab
site, layout etc all 500 error

Could not install via i joomla installer got 500 error when I tried to access from components drop down so installed individuully. Also installed ad agency pro at the same time this seems to work ok.

that internal server error. it might be any blockers at your server (IP blocker) or any restrictions.
at backend, jomsocial still looking external XML for version checker.

try this solution:

for exactly error, you can asking your server support about error 500 detail.

I have just performed a complete new install of joomla, jomsocial and adagency as requested, but still get the same error when trying to access many of the tabs in the admin area or jomsocial:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

joomla itself works perfectly as does adagency? Please can you help me with this as im puzzeled? I have never had problems installing a joomla component before?

i have created you a new login if you email me i will send it as i dont want to post it on the forum.

I hope you can help as this is holding my launch date back.

could you please have a look at "server error log" related with internal server error (500). if you cant find it, you can contact the server support. at error log we can see what exactly issue with it. so I con provide solution for you.

FYI: server error log is a file stored at your server.

I looked for the error log last night on the server but could not find it? Is it a folder within joomla? Or is it at the server root? Will it be named error or log?

Also I have run through all the links in jomsocial and the problem seems to be:

www.vdubsocial.com/administrator/index.p...tion&cfgSection=site

Any link with &view=configuration call at the end.

I have just figured out how to access the error log file. I have attached it below.
