Hi there - I'm trying to do the Joomla 1.5 JomSocial to Joomla 3 JomSocial upgrade, and the upgrade path that was just posted doesn't quite work and seems to be missing some steps and requirements. Primarily because I don't want to have to install Joomla 2.5 and upgrade the entire site again. I've got a Joomla 3.3.6 site and I want to install JomSocial on it. Yet I can't install Joomla 2.6.3 on Joomla 3, so it does not work. The iJoomla installer does not work either, as it says it upgrades but then gives me database errors about missing table columns whenever I load a page.
Could this be updated with the tiered versions required for the points after 2.6.3? Basically I need the 2.8 versions mentioned in other threads on this topic, i.e.:
www.jomsocial.com/forum/installation/215...test-problems#108697
The ones for these steps, specifically:
5. install jomsocial 2.8.4.2 (no need turn off or uninstall anythings, just continue with higher jomsocial version)
6. install jomsocial 3.0.5.3 (no need turn off or uninstall anythings, just continue with higher jomsocial version)
7. install jomsocial 3.1.1 (no need turn off or uninstall anythings, just continue with higher jomsocial version)
8. install jomsocial 3.2.0.5 (no need turn off or uninstall anythings, just continue with higher jomsocial version)
I'm not sure why there isn't an old version archive somewhere for situations like this, it would be really handy.
Hi, Ryan.
There is no way to jump from Joomla 1.5 right to 3.0. You have to reach Joomla! 2.8 and install latest JomSocial in order to migrate to Joomla! 3.0.
And there is topic of forum that share all necessary versions and patches for tier upgrade:
www.jomsocial.com/forum/bugfixes-and-upg...for-a-tiered-upgrade
You don't need version 2.8 as after you reach 2.6.3 you could use iJoomla Installer on Joomla 2.5 to get upgrade right to latest release:

Hi, Ryan.
NO, I just tested iJoomla Installer from latest packed (downloaded from here:
www.jomsocial.com/component/digistore/licenses
) on Joomla 2.5.28. I installed it withiut issues and could perform JomSocial upgrade.
Which is my point I guess. You have to be upgrading Joomla at the same time using the 1.5->2.5 steps or you can't install iJoomla installer. Just an extra step I was trying to avoid. I did it though, by going through the upgrade process with Joomla again.
Hi, Ryan.
Just like I said before: you can't jump straight from 1.5 to 3.0. That's why it's called TIER upgrade ;)
iJoomla installer was introduced when Joomla! 2.5 was LTS so there was no need to design it for older nad unsupported version of J!.
