I installed JomSocial but later realized that I was supposed to use the iJoomla installer. So I uninstalled it and it now shows that my license is invalid in iJoomla installer so I can't re-install it. The license # matches the # on my downloads page.
THanks,
Sue
Hi Susan,
Wasn't necessary to uninstall it.
Anyway I just fixed a problem with the URL you register on your license. So, try again and let me know if the problem persists.
Best regards,
thank you - it now lets me install but I get this error:
Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/plastic4/public_html/test/components/com_community/libraries/featured.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php53/pear') in /home/plastic4/public_html/test/plugins/user/jomsocialuser/jomsocialuser.php on line 23
thanks,
Sue
Hi Susan,
I moved this thread from Billing forums to Installation & Upgrades forums. Our technical team will help you to find what's causing that problem. Please edit the first message on this thread and you will find a form where you can leave us backend access.
Thanks.
Hi, Susan.
Please provide us working administrator credentials.
I can't login to your site backend.
Please, edit your first post and add credentials to corresponding fields.
Hi, Susan.
Ok, I can see the issue.
Now I'll need FTP access to fix it.
Hi, Susan.
OK, backend is unlocked and JomSocial is installed.
JomSocial could be installed in two ways - using iJoomla Installer and manually via Joomla Installer.
You uninstalled JomSocial but left some plugins and this caused fatal error.
Next time just follow this steps:
UPGRADE
0. Make a safe copy of your whole system (files and database)
1. Browse to Backend -> Extensions -> Extension Manager -> Manage
2. Search all extensions using filter "com"
3. Uninstall all JomSocial related extensions
4. Search all extensions using filter "jom"
5. Uninstall all JomSocial related extensions
6. Download latest JomSocial package from here:
www.jomsocial.com/component/digistore/licenses
7. Unzip it
8. Install com_community package via Joomla! installer
9. Follow installation steps
10. Install iJoomla installer for future version check and upgrade.
After that you'll need to do a menu fix also:
When you upgrading JomSocial menu items in JomSocial toolbar lost "connection" with component. Joomla! mark them as disabled and with notice: "Component 'com_community' does not exist". In order to fix it please follow this instruction:
- click on menu item in JomSocial menu in order to edit it
- when in edit mode don't change anything
- save
- menu item should be fixed
- do it for every JomSocial related menu items (if needed) in all other menus
I am reopening this topic in case my current problem is related.
I am trying to upgrade Jomsocial from 3.2.1.5 to 4.0.7 from the iJoomla dashboard and it is saying that my license is invalid. My license had expired and I just renewed it. The My Downloads page still shows the same license #. I need to upgrade without re-installing since my site is almost ready to go live.
Thanks for your help,
Sue
Hi, Susan.
Do you try to upgrade site under this domain: soccerpitch.org ?
Could you try once again?
