Shouldn't the recaptcha language follow the language chosen via the language picker?

I need Danish as Recaptcha language.If the above is not possible, shouldn't all language be available in backend settings? Or should I add Danish as described here?

Or is it better to drop Recaptcha all together and use for example extensions.joomla.org/extension/jrpassphrase where I make translations that include the answer?

I am not sure it will work or not, but please you try this, open this file views/configuration/tmpl/registrations.php, find this code :

<option value="da"<?php echo $this->config->get('recaptchalang') == 'da' ? ' selected="selected"' : ''; ?>><?php echo JText::_('Danish');?></option>

For adding Danish recaptcha, the "da" hack works.

Will there be a formal fix for this? Since everything else is multilingual, why not this part?

I am not sure about that, we dont have any plan to add another language on recaptcha, but since I already gave you solution, it will be easy for you and another users to create another lang as you want.
