Can Amazon s3 be used to store my site users uploaded photos and videos? I am trying to avoid having a problem with space on my hosting package.

Hi. Dee.

Yes, that is right. Amazon S3 will store users photos, videos, avatars and files.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Thanks for the reply. This means that when I set up Amazon S3, I can make it so that as soon as my users upload their audio, video, images or files, it can go to the Amazon S3 storage by default?

Thanks,

Hi, Dee.

Yes, that's correct. You'll need to have configured cron job to transfer files to Amazon S3. Each cron job run small portion of files will be transfered (not all by once to avoid timeouts).
