Change Avatar - not uploading - JomScoial v3.2.1.5

The previous posts seem to indicate that this was fixed and a patch needs to be applied. The posts seem to be at least a year old. I'm using JomScoial 3.2.1.5 and Joomla 3.3.6. I would assume this version of JomSocial has been fixed and the patch no longer needed? I didn't want to apply the patch files to my version unless I'm instructed.

However, I'm experiencing the same issue that was reported...

1. On my JomSocial Frontpage I select "Options / Change Avatar".
2. The "Change Avatar" pop-up window displays with the "Upload Photo" button.
3. I click on "Upload Photo" and my OS (Windows) "File Upload" window opens, I choose my image and select "Open", the "file Upload" window closes.
4. The "Change Avatar" window does not display the image I selected.

I can successfully change the image from "Profile / Change Profile Picture" menu item.

Please advise how to fix the "Change Avatar" image.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Hi James,

Did you change htaccess setting? because the AJAX response from upload avatar is showing error 303 See other, this issue usually caused by htacess or apache configuration.

My .htaccess file is blank. Is there something I should look for? Or ask my hosting provider about?

I turned off "Search Engine Friendly URLs" in the Joomla Global Configuration and I'm able to upload images successfully. Seems to be a bug?
