Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
On my site I currently have JS 3.2.1.2 running. I created this site on one hosting and transferred it to another hosting a few months ago and it is running fine. Now I wanted to update JS to 3.2.1.5, the first time for an upgrade while on the new hosting. Now I am prompted with a screen that says I'd have to change some php and mysql configuration settings:

However, my hosting provider will not allow me to change mysql settings, neither is it allowed to change max_execution_timeout. Can I proceed with the update, will JomSocial still be ok? The hosting is a Joomla GoGeek account at Sitground, so it is shared hosting but a rather well-equipped one (as far as I understand). See, for instance:

Your settings meet minimum system requirements:
documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/System_Requirements
However you may (not must) experience some issues if your community will grow with more content and users e.g timeouts or memory exhaustion.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
Thanks for your reply. Maybe I did not read the message carefully as it says indeed: "Recommended PHP configuration". I think I just saw the words "Minimum value" and then started worrying.
So we can safely assume that in the short term JS will keep running as it does right now. That's good enough for me. The growth of the number of users is rather controlled as it is an intranet site (or should I say: extranet).
