JomSocial Expired

Hello,

QUESTION
My Main Menu (Joomla's core) disappears as I click any menu item from JomSocial Toolbar. This happens in any language different from default one. (It works properly with the default language).

COMPONENTS
I am installing a multilingual site with following core components:
- Joomla 3.3.6
- Jomsocial 3.2.1.5
- Rockettheme template Tachyon (designated for use with JomSocial)
I have set up a multilingual site based on Joomla's core module Language Switcher.
I followed these instructions: www.templatemonster.com/help/joomla-3-x-...tilanguage-site.html
But I had one difference. The above instruction says that I have to create three menu modules (for each language) and assign them three Main Menus (for each language). However, since I use core menu of Rockettheme, I have assigned these menus from template's manager as per below screenshots:

BACKGROUND OF ISSUE

Now my multilingual site works and it shows top menu successfully:

However, whenever I click any menu from the Jomsocial Toolbar menu, my top menu disappears:

The above behavior happens when I select any language except the language set as RocketTheme Template's default one.

I think that such a behaviour is quite reasonable from viewpoint of Joomla, as I need to create three different JomSocial Menus for each language and assign them to each menu accordingly. I also tried to create three JomSocial Toolbars and assigned them in template manager, but all of them stopped to show in any language, then I reverted back to a single toolbar.

Did you face this issue with your users before? Any hint how to make friendship between RocketTheme and JomSocial in multilingual site?

Thank you!

Hi Sergey,

I think this issue caused by menu assignment from RocketTheme module configuration, I suggest you contact RocketTheme developer for fixing this, because this is not Jomsocial parts, this is related with menu assigment from Joomla and RocketTheme issue.

Just for an info, create multi lang for Jomsocial toolbar is quite easy, you dont need to create multiple module/menus.. please you read here for more info documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Translate_Toolbar

thank you

JomSocial Expired

Hi Dimas,

Ok, I have contacted with RocketTheme team and will wait for their reply.

At the same time, would you kindly advice if I can create three Toolbar Menus for each language? I have tried this way, but it seems JomSocial will not recognize its toolbar menu until you change its alias back to jomsocial.
Since I have three different menus, I have assigned their names as jomsocialeng, jomsocialrus, jomsocialukr and the toolbar has disappeared. I have renamed alias back to jomsocial and it shows again.

Thank you.

The topic has been resolved by RocketTheme support. I have incorrectly setup default language in RocketTheme's template overrides.
