Hello, in previous versions of jomsocial we had created custom icons for all of the activity stream actions. With your recent change to a customized font we have lost that ability. How can we edit the icons in your font file to customize the appearance of our site?

the icon depend with the jomsocial template it self. default template:
/components/com_community/templates/default/fonts --> for font icon
/components/com_community/templates/default/css/style.css --> for the css

you can override the icon by using joomla template override (depend what template are you use). every template provide have they own standard.

I don't think overrides are appropriate for font icon replacement. You would have to find every instance throughout the software where a particular font icon is used and replace that with a graphic file. That is clumsy and would require too many override files which need to be managed when jomsocial is updated.

Isn't there a way to edit the font you are using?

there is a tools, but still not easy to use if you not have experience as web developer.
if you using Linux or OsX you can use:
fontcustom.com

or you can googling to find any tools.
