Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
I need the exact infra sizing in terms of processor , memory and hard disk and bandwidth required to launch the jomsocial across my users base.
Total user base = 14000
Max Concurrent user expected = 700-800
Average no of concurrent user expected = 400 - 500 daily
Current infra details
windows 2012 virtual machine hosted on windows Azure cloud .
8 core with 14 GB RAM and 100 GB hard disk for jomsocial database with apache, jommla , my sql installed and jomsocial running.
You need to have 2 buffed up servers. First should be dedicated server with loads of RAM to run nginx with PHP 5.5 with Zend OPCache enabled, coupled with memcached to speed up the session footprints and Google's mod_pagespeed (there's also a counterpart for nginx)
For the other buffed up with processor power and RAM to run MariaDB (not MySQL)
For the amount of mails you need to send daily, id harness Google and use gmail as SMTP.
You need to determine what storage size do you need most, but make sure it is SSD, not HDD.
On the software side, you might want to merge all CSS and Javascripts, use non-framework template that loads minimal images and unused CSS and JS bells 'n whistles.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
Thanks for the reply . I understand that we need to work on cache performance and reduce javascript/css and image files.
I need the hardware side of this as well . How much is loads of ram and processor power we are talking about. Plus what should we do for redundancy.
