Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
I have what may be a small problem that I cannot figure out. If someone new cares to register to be a member on my site or an existing member forgets his username and or password, they use the appropriate recovery form to get it. However, the Captcha or Recaptcha is not working on my site. It's not even showing up. I was hoping someone could just look and give me any ideas why this is not working and where I can look to fix this. If needed, I will give you a administrator username and password to get into the back end and look closer. Any help in this will be appreciated.
please goto Jomsocial configuration, the setting for captcha is not correct, you must put Recaptcha Public Key and Recaptcha Private Key
you can get those key from:
recaptcha.net
and make sure at ReCaptcha plugin (joomla backend - extension manager) using same key and the key must be valid
Albert,
Thank you for taking the time to help me on this. I did everything in step one with no problem and added both the private and public keys. When I went to the Joomla Back End, Captcha - ReCaptcha plug-in, it will not allow me to modify anything. When I hover over the plug in text, I get a pop up box that tells me to go to
www.google.com/recapche
. I did that already in step one. How do I get into this plug in to modify these two keys?
you can edit it by visiting Basic Option tab. At jomsocial page the CAPTCHA already working properly. only at forget password and user name not working. that page belong to Joomla it self. not jomsocial.
Albert,
Thank you again. If I understand you correctly, the problem is with Joomla not JomSocial? If that is the case, do you have any idea where I can go to figure this out or find someone like yourself to help me on Joomla like you are helping me here on JomSocial?
please follow this steps:
1. backup /plugins/captcha/recaptcha (you can rename it to recaptcha-old)
2. unzip this file
3. put it under /plugins/captcha/
4. re-setup recaptcha plugin from joomla backend
seem that plugin not uptodate. if still cant, please provide me FTP access detail by editing your first post at this topic. put it at site info form.
Regards,
Albert

Albert,
You are the best. Thank you for hanging in there with me. Your short simple instructions worked just perfect. One last question on this subject. Now that it's working, should I delete the file I renamed?
