Don't know where to start + lots of other problems..

I just installed Joomla and JomSocial but I don't know where to start the configuration, I thought I was gonna receive a video tutorial about everything?
Secondly when I try to access anything in the configuration it doesn't work, I read that JomSocial needed some kind of plugin that I could find when I go to Extension Manager-->Discover but I've got nothing there to be discovered. I'm completely lost and this is really a bad start of JomSocial for me.
Yes, I might be a bit noobish about this!

3. Please, describe step by step what are you doing in backed so you get this error so I could replicate it. Describe it in points like that:

1. Login to
2. Do that
3. Go there...

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

My account was logged out in Chrome, and when I logged back in it was there. That was weird, and frustrating. But the banner is here now. Thanks a bunch to both of you! :)
