Hi Joseph,
For changing the text:
Please go to the file "root/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_community.ini" and
Find the word 'COM_COMMUNITY_GET_CONNECTED_TITLE' and 'COM_COMMUNITY_HERO_PARAGRAPH'

For changing the hero image:
'root/components/com_community/templates/default/images/guest-bg.jpg'
and change the image as you expected.
