Upgrading from Jomsocial 2.2.3/Joomla 1.5 to latest JomSocial/Joomla 3

I'm upgrading straight from Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 3. I have JomSocial 2.2.3 installed on the Joomla 1.5 site. I've been reading this article:

This is for upgrading to JomSocial 2.6 on Joomla 2.5. Would it be the same procedure with Joomla 3?

Is there any way of upgrading an old JomSocial 2.2.3 database without having to upgrade JomSocal on the current live 1.5 site to 2.6.3 first?

No, you need to walk through whole process as described in documentation. You can't skip any of steps.
We can't guarantee successful migration if you change order of version migration or omit any step.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
