Answering this important question will help Jomsocial community for long time to come hence I request clear detailed response along with configuration, documentation etc.

How does Jomsocial works in a 3-tier infrastructure with the database (MySQL) in Tier-3.

Would it be possible to deploy Civicrm in this configuration where :
tier 1 - web server
tier 2 - application server (Joomla + Jomsocial)
tier 3 - database server

Please help with clear documentation, network design and sample configuration examples.
