Hi,

I'm upgrading an old site, and have just purchased a new JomSocial license in order to do the upgrade.

Existing site: Joomla 1.5.25 + JomSocial 2.2.1
New site (in development): Joomla 3.3.1

I've read your guides to upgrading, especially this one:
documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Updatin...d_JomSocial_Versions

However, that article leads to an installation on Joomla 2.5, so it is now out of date - and I already have Joomla 3.3 and various other compatible components installed.

My idea was to:
1. Upgrade existing site to JomSocial 2.6.3 (via 2.2.5 and 2.4.3) as per your guide
2. Copy the component database tables to the new site
3. Install JomSocial on the new site

However, your compatibility guide ( documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Joomla_Versions_Compatibility ) shows that Joomla 3.3 is only compatible with JomSocial 3.2

What is your suggestion? Install 2.6.3 on the new site even though it is not compatible, and then tier upgrade all the way to 3.2? Or install 3.2 and hope it all works out ok?

Hi Judd,

Make it simple, please you insall your old Jomsocial to the newest version 3.2.0.x directly, if you found some error after that (I am sure will be related with database) I will help you then, and dont forget provide us FTP and phpmyadmin access.

Hey, that worked fine!

I did as planned - upgraded to JomSocial 2.6.3 on existing site, copied all the db tables across to the Joomla 3.3 site, then installed JomSocial 3.2.0.6.

I have a few template issues, but the JomSocial component seems to be working :-)
