Hi Didier,

as long you follow our minimum requirement:
documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/System_Requirements

Your Jomsocial will up and running well. For cache settings you can use conservative. with any cache handler (depend what provided by your server).

and plugin: Azrul System Mambot For Joomla is mandatory. but at installation Jomsocial we will do it automatically for any mandatory plugins or modules.

Albert

Hi Albert,

thanks for your answer. Actually we have a TTFB time of 10 seconds. You can test it on webpagetest.org with our URL web2.singleactive.ch

We tried all possible cache settings but nothing changed.

Do you have any ideas what we could improve or check ?

thanks a lot

Hi Didier,

for reference:
www.rackaid.com/blog/time-to-first-byte/

"The Time to First Byte (TTFB) is the time your browser spends waiting on the web server to send back the data."

Basically many aspects related with TTFB.
- first please tweaking your server it self
- settings the PHP by increasing memory limit.
- optimize your template, by take out any unnecessary CSS rules, javascript, and optimize any template images.
- take out any unnecessary plugins, component, modules

or the simple one try using cloud flare.

Albert

Thanks Albert, currently we use a shared server with 128MB RAM for php, do you think an upgrade to a dedicates server with 1GM RAM will dramatically improve the performance ?

Thanks,
Didier

Hi Didier,

for the performance will improve is yes, but dramatically improve I can't answer that. Because you are using shared server, all resource with that server will be shared. If any website consume a lot resource on that server, your site your site will be affected.

I think you must asking your server support about this.

Albert
