Hi, Yuditmi.

What "categories" do you mean?
Could you elaborate?

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Hi, Yuditmi.

You mean you want categories names dynamically translated when language is switched?
Yes, you can do that. Use language override feature: www.inmotionhosting.com/support/edu/joom...ew-language-override

1. Create language constant in language overrides e.g: MY_CATEGORY_NAME
2. Add translation for it
3. Use language constant MY_CATEGORY_NAME as title of category

Hi, Yuditmi.

On your first print screen you show categories from JOOMLA! Solution I provided you apply to categories in JOMSOCIAL.
I explained it very clear:

- use language override feature in Joomla! I provided you with link that contains tutorial. read it carefully.
- then just like in tutorial create a language constant e.g: MY_CATEGORY_NAME
- translation needs also a text e.g "My new category name"
- then browse to Event categories, or Video categories
- click on category name and change name with MY_CATEGORY_NAME

To be more specific, lets presume that you have 3 languages: Polish, English and Spanish.
And you have one category for Events.
You want to have it in all three languages translated dynamically.

You need to have installed 3 languages in Joomla! and defined 3 languages for content.
Read more how to set up multilanguage Joomla!: www.scribd.com/doc/82768844/Joomla-2-5-m...tensions-in-10-steps

So now you need to create 3 language constants with text.
In language overrides you choose e.g Polish and add:

MY_FIRST_CATEGORY_NAME_EVENTS = "Moja pierwsza kategoria wydarzeń"

Then add another constant for English:

MY_FIRST_CATEGORY_NAME_EVENTS = "My first Events category"

Then for Spanish:

MY_FIRST_CATEGORY_NAME_EVENTS = "Mi primera categoría des Eventos"

Now you defined category name for every one of three langues.

Browse to Events category, click on it name in order to edit and paste as category name: MY_FIRST_CATEGORY_NAME_EVENTS and save.

Now when you switch language category name will be translated.

Notice: this will work only for CATEGORIES IN JOMSOCIAL, not Joomla! categories. You mixing up those categories... they are separated and unrelated.
