Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
Upgrade to 3.2.0.5 - Activity Stream extremely slow
My site currently runs 2.5.*, however with the latest Jomsocial I decided to upgrade to 3.3, this went fine, and the upgrade of Jomsocial also fine.
I have run into one problem no matter if I just upgrade Jomsocial on 2.5.* or create a clean Joomla install and import previous Jomsocial data.
The activity stream and homepage takes close to 30 seconds to load, all other jomsocial pages perform fine, including profile. I have tried on a clean install and have the same issue when my previous data is imported.
The only solution I have found that puts the page load back to normal is to delete the entire activity data, obviously I can't do this as a fix when I upgrade my live site.
I have just under 70,000 activity records in the database.
So I asked our developers for advice... I mark this thread a Pending Support to update you as soon I'll know.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
Please edit your first post and add credentials to PhPMyAdmin (or any other access to database panel).

I'm not able to provide phpmyadmin access, however I have seen the problem has been resolved.
The file activities.php has been edited which seems to have resolved the issue
Could you confirm what the fix was and whether it will be in the next release? Am I ok to copy that file to my live site when I eventually upgrade if it's before the next release?
Yes, I asked our developer Alex to look at it and he fixed it.
Yes, this fix should be included in next stable release.
This issue was a great concern for us - it's great that Alex found a solution for it ;)
