Hi, we are using Amazon S3 remote storage for our images and videos. Our site is using an SSL certificate, however the links to Amazon are not SSL. Is it possible use an SSL link to Amazon, and if so, where do I change this in JomSocial?
thanks,
Geoff
Hi, Geoff.
But photos links to amazon are with SSL:
prntscr.com/3ndogo
Mmmm... let me take another look.
BTW -- There are some broken image links in Photo Albums , e.g. /geoff-robertson/photos/album?albumid=5 ,
photos/album?albumid=140
Do these links look correctly formed?
Geoff
Hi, Geoff.
1. Both links are for one and the same image:
prntscr.com/3ndx0h
prntscr.com/3ndx3i
2. Image don't seems to be broken for me:
prntscr.com/3ndxd4
But it's probably because of link with your domain on the begging - there is no SSL certifficate for such a domain so browser block it. Try in another browser. But just few minutes ago link was correct... like on my first print screen...
3. Yes, links are correct.
Thanks, but I don't understand what's happening. In both Chrome and Safari the links are broken, and the path to that image (upon inspection) is
fellowship.ucg.org.au.s3.amazonaws.com/i...7b8306560cdc79f8.jpg
which is not a valid link. Why would the link be formed this way for me?
BYTW, we have had the SSL for a long time, and the domain has been delegated to this account for over month.
Geoff
Hi, Geoff.
Ok, I explain :)
Please enter this URL:
fellowship.ucg.org.au.s3.amazonaws.com/i...7b8306560cdc79f8.jpg
Your browser should inform you about SSL certificate issue and if you want to add an exception for that URL. here are print screens (I'm sorry but I'm using FireFox in my native language):
prntscr.com/3nngba
prntscr.com/3nngen
So the issue is that connection is "untrusted" as it uses SSL certificate that was issued on different domain. So browser "thinks" that certificate could be stolen... but it isn't.
Strange thing is that in my previous post link to Amazon storage was different (bucket name was added as a folder in URL path). I sawed your setting in configuration path was altered.... probably your bucket name could also cause this issue s it is domain address...
Recently we've made some changes in our code due to Amazon API changes...
Please, provide me with FTP access and I'll check our files if I can fix it...
Hi, Geoff.
We have not received any response back from you in over 7 days, and would like to know if you consider this issue to be resolved. If you have any further questions, simply reply to this post.
Thanks Michael, I had not seen this reply until now. I am not sure if the issue is resolved... I haven't done anything to correct it so I suppose not. Can you address the issue via a SA login?
thanks,
Geoff
Hi, Geoff.
It seems to be fixed.
Photo is stored in Amazon S3:
