Hey guys,
I've purchased jomsocial professional edition and ran into the following problem:
I want to build a community with several groups.
Each group has their own subdomain and has an own joomla template.
I've done this with the addon "Virtual Domains"
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/core-en.../multiple-sites/7557
The jomsocial main page loads as expected in the right template.
hellsing.animesector.de/jomsocial
But if I open a user profile page it doesn't load the template.
hellsing.animesector.de/jomsocial/645-jam88/profile
This happens when running com_community_pro_3.2.0.5.zip
On an local test installation of the site I've tested the version
com_community_std_3.1.1.zip which integrates the profile just fine.

Can you please help me pointing out what could cause that?
Best Regards

Hi, Sven.
If nobody replies you it means that no one was on your site and done anything.
I just visited your site and encountered looped redirection caused by misconfiguration in JomSocial redirect plugin. I disabled it.
As for your issue:
It has nothing to do with JomSocial. You should ask Virtual Domains developers for advice as you assign template to certain domain in this extension. I noticed that this assignment works when canonical URL s are disabled. JomSocail reacts as expected - Protostar is default template of your system and it's loaded on JomSocial sites.
Hi, Sven.
I have similar report regarding different templates used in one system with JomSocial.
So, I'll examine that issue as both seems to be related.
I mark this thread as "Pending support" and I'll be back to you as soon as I come to constructive conclusion.
Hi, Sven.
I'm sorry that you have to wait. I tested issue that I was told you about. Now I'm sure that template assignment works with JomSocial:
prolusatia.nazwa.pl/test-muhanad/
.
I checked your system and it seems that you haven't configured properly Virtual Domains extension. In each item (domain) that you entered is tab" Site Configuration" and there you have templates styles set to "Global settings"... so only domain start page uses assigned template... the rest uses, well, template that was globally set as default.
I advise to ask Virtual Domain developers to help you with configuration ;)
Hi, Sven.
Yes, I showed you that different template could be assigned to different menu items in JomSocial.
That was the point of that presentation.
In your case you have: Joomla! default domain and domain assigned to domain in Virtual Domains.
JomSocial take Joomla! default domain as it set in Virtual Domains extension. That's why I asked you to contact with Virtual Domain developer for advice as this should be configured in extension.
Yes, you can get older JomSocial version. Please read this:
www.jomsocial.com/company/faq/can-i-down...ersions-of-jomsocial
But I recommend to contact Virtual Domain developers for advice first. Using older version of JomSocial you'll loose newest features. And also if you ask for support in solving possible issue we'll ask you to upgrade to current version as it will probably contain fix. So please consider older version usage.
yeah i see in the cangelogs that the last version have many many nice extensions, but i think that the developer from virtual domains dont have time to give me support, i send him allready some mails...
so is my only chance to usw a older version...

What i have to replace with "REFERENCENUMBER"?
Hi, Sven.
Well, i'ts up to you - I'm trying to find best solution for you just like I was on your place :)
Reference number = You have it in the e-mail we sent when you purchased your subscription.
Thanks alot! =) i find the number =)
Sry my english is not so good, i dont understand what you exactly do, ore try to do now...
You try to config for me Virtual Domains? i Try to set the Template Selector options but it dont helps...
maybe is it not possible to fix the problem without coding php? i dont can code php ore js, i just can write simple html and css... =/
thats the problem... i dont understand how this component "Virtual Domains" work, so i can not understand where is the problem...
Thanks again for your help =)
Hi, Sven.
What I'm trying to say is that it should be configured in VD... how to achieve it there - I don't know exactly as this is 3rd party extension.
That's why I advised you to ask VD developer for help... if you purchased their extension, they should support you.
Maybe try to find documentation for this... or maybe there is VD forum?
Also try ask on Joomla! forum:
forum.joomla.org/
That's all I can advice as here we support only JomSocial issues and JS works as expected - loads default template as set in Joomla!
Okay thank you, i try it with a other component, maybe the other one work better ;)
if i have more questions, have i to open all the time for every problem a new topic?
i have alot of questions about the customizing my design...
at the moment i ask me how i can make the avatar size from the modul "hello me" responsive?
if i add from bootstraps the responsive class it work to going smaller... but it dont go bigger if i have still space in the div...
how can i set the max size higher?
the copping tool from jomsocial copp the avatar size at the moment to 160px... how can i make this to 200 oder 250?
and is it possible that jomsocial have problems with the last version of bootstrap?
i found some display bugs... if i remove in firebug the bootstrap css looks again all fine =/
