New registration email not sent

I have a test site ukitadesign.com and a live site channelfocuscommunity.net. Both on jomsocial 3.2 & hosted in the same GO DADDY hosting package.
i have attached the settings for ukitadesign.com i.e. new user activation set to admin.
Everything works fine - the verification email is sent to the new user & the relevant emails to admin & it all works fine
i duplicated the same settings on channelfocuscommunity.net but no emails a received when a new user completes the registration form.
I'd be grateful for your help

Well, they not the same at all:

ukitadesign.com = [email protected]
channelfocuscommunity.net = [email protected]

ukitadesign.com = Captcha
channelfocuscommunity.net = none selected

But both use outdated and unsupported version of JomSocial. Please upgrade to JomSocial 3.2.0.5

Make sure that Super users have "Receive System emails" set to yes (they should be in Super user group only)


- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

i changed the channelfocuscommunity.net back to [email protected]
& made sure that i only had super user group only with "Receive System emails"
but nothing again
I'm about to go live with this site this weekend and it has a number of customisations if i upgraded at this late stage it would give me a heart attack.
Is there anything else i can try ?
Any help would be appreciated
I Really don't understand how it works fine with the test site

I would really appreciate some help.
I have upgraded to the latest version of jomsocial on my test site (ukitadesign.com) There are a number of issue that I can fix but the main one is the lose of group blog plugin from easyblog.
With the channelfocuscommunity.net going live this weekend I cannot upgrade to the last version of jomsocial and lose this functionality.
But I need help to get the new user activation emails working.
I know this version is unsupported but i'm happy to pay for the bespoke work to find a remedy.

1. If plugin doesn't work then contact with easyblog developers, they should handle it.

2. If you want to stay with unsupported version then only solution is to hire a developer: www.jomsocial.com/jomsocial-developers

Hi Michal,
i have upgraded the test site ukitadesign.com to 3.2.0.5 & set New User Account Activation = self. If i register i receive the email
i have also upgraded the live site channelfocuscommunity.net to 3.2.0.5 and set New User Account Activation = self, but the problem still remains i.e. the email is not received.
I would be grateful is you could look into this

Please check if your email is not blocked or blacklisted: www.mail-tester.com/

Hi Michal,
I don't know what you did but thank you.

New User Account Activation = self seems to be working i.e. the new user receives the verification link, clicks on it and can login.

However I'm still having issues with New User Account Activation = admin (see attached)
The new user receives the thank you for registering email but the administrator receives the postmaster error attached confirming a problem with This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. (not the users email address)

As for the moment admin activation of accounts is possible only if you use multiple profiles.
I talked with our PO and he consider to add this feature in next release.
And there is no quick fix for it so you'll have to wait - I'm sorry.
