Login/Logout function not working properly

The login/logout functions aren't working properly. After succesfully entering my login credentials, I am often presented with a popup asking me to login again. After I enter my login credentials AGAIN I am also reprompted to reenter my credentials. Not sure what the problem is but it is beyond frustrating. When I am able to succesfully login, if I then click on a link to go back to the homepage then I am logged out of the system somehow. Another problem I've seen after logging in is that the "Hello Me" module on the right side still doesn't reflect the fact that I am logged in. There is just a lot of strange behavior going on with the login that I need help in resolving. Thanks.

Hi, Chris.

I visited your site and I encountered issue that you describe in only one place: when I logged out.
The strange thing is that when I enter your frontpage there is no Get connected box (with frontpagecover). But when I log out it suddenly appears along with modal window wanted me to log in... then when I try to login I get invalid token.

Didi you modified template for frontpage?

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Nope, I have not modified the template or any code at all.

Hi, Chris.

Could you upgrade to latest JomSocial 3.2.0.5 and check if issue still persist?

I've upgraded to the latest and still see the same problems as described before.

Hi, Chris.

It seems that you have some old files left after previous upgrade. So please try this:

0. Make a SAFE COPY!

1. Browse to: backend -> Extension manager -> Manage
2. Search all extensions with "com"
3. Remove all JomSocial related extensions
4. Search all extensions with "jom"
5. Remove all JomSocial related extensions
6. Install latest JomSocial package
7. Check if issue still persist

Ok. I did that and things seem better for the most part. However, my Jomsocial Toolbar menu has disappeared. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling a few times but still no luck. I'm referring to the Jomsocial toolbar menu that has Profile, Friends, Groups, etc. and submenu items under each of these. How do I get that back ?

Hi, Chris.

For some reason menu wasn't recreated.
You'll need to create it manually.
Create menu:

title: JomSocial toolbar
menu type: jomsocial

And here is list of menu items:

Profile
|— Change Profile Picture
|— Change Profile Video
|— Edit Profile
|— Edit Details
|— Privacy
|— Preferences
|— Customize My Page
Friends
|— Show All
|— Search
|— Advanced Search
|— Invite Friends
|— Request Sent
|— Pending my approval
Groups
Photos
Videos
Events

And your toolbar menu will be back :)

Is there no way to install this menubar without going through the steps manually to build each each of those menu items ? If it's normally part of the install process, we can't this be done via some automated means ?

Hi, Chric.

Yes, you're right, it should be recreated automatically.
Are you sure that you removed all menu items related to JomSocial (also from trash bin) and menus?
