My boss tried to upgrade jomsocial using the ijoomla installer/upgrader and it hung up at this point in the picture below:

After he called me I also tried to run the upgrade as it is the only option we have at the moment, that is how I got the image.

Any thoughts?

Hi, Jon.

Please, remove all JomSocial related menu items and menus form Joomla! menus.
Also from trash.
And try again.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

I tried doing that, and it stops in the same place.

I even logged into myphpadmin to make sure there were no entries in the database and it was clean.

It appears that it may be a limitation with our hosting plan that is stopping the upgrade. Using Chrome inspector I get the following error:

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error) rejoiceinternational.net/administrator/i...tabase&stage=upgrade

I checked with our host and to move up to a plan that would allow for the change would be expensive.

I may need to look at a different approach. Unless there is something else we can try.

Hi, Jon.

Please ask your hosting provider to check error logs and confirm if your current hosting limitation are issue source.

Got some information from my host. They discovered the following error.

<title>Error: 1062 Duplicate entry 'dbversion' for key 'PRIMARY' SQL=ALTER TABLE `d62dq_community_config` ADD PRIMARY KEY ( `name` )</title>

So it looks like there are duplicate database entry's.

So do I just remove one of them?

Hi, Jon.

Yes, make a safe copy of your database and delete duplicated entry.
