I downloaded the update and found the RC1 zip inside, ready to install on my test site. I also followed the steps and removed JomSocial 3.1 then went to iJoomla Installer, and the RC1 update isn't showing up at all on the list. It keeps showing only JomSocial 3.1. The ZIP files have been uploaded already onto the server.

What can be the issue?

Hi Jack

The only way to install RC1 is to use the extension manager in joomla and upload the RC1 package which was included in the download. RC releases are not able to be installed from the Ijoomla installer

I did install that way, but there was one problem that kept showing up (I even tried with RC3 too, same thing) and it is that the status update box does not show up. In fact, there is no way to update status or post anything on the wall. Comments didn't work either. What am I missing?

Hi Jack,

I had a look at your site and issue with T3 and the option in the template to optimise js This causes the status box to not show. The T3 framework framework team are working on this issue. The solution short term is to do the following

1. Install the RC3 release
2. Turn off optimize js in the socialize template general settings
3. install the socialize template and toolbar which is now 1.2.7
4 save the template then compile less to css
Everything should work correctly. Please remember though that RC releases should not be installed in a live environment and they are for reporting purposes only. There is no support offered for RC releses
