Hi
Alot of landing pages especially within groups, and some modules are wrong after installing jom 3. I have the latest version as well. For example, when a user clicks groups, any group etc, it takes them back to the front page. the same happens on the list of users module shown on the front page, when they click view all, they are sent back to homepage.
Please help.
Thanks

Hi, Patrick.
You just messed up with menu items.
Please, remember a golden rule: if you want to have link to JomSocial page and it is already in JomSocial tollbar menu - create menu alias instead direct link to the same page again.
So I disabled all JomSocial related menu items in your main menu. Only Community is enabled.
Also hanged links to full canonical links (without index.php in the middle).
Now recreate JomSocial toolbar and create aliases in main menu.
Hi,
Thank you for getting back to me on this.
For some reason the fix meant some of my nav links had gone wrong, but I fixed those.
While on the community page, clickinh view all photos on the 'community photo - module',
siteformedia.com/community.html
when you click view all, it still goes to the wrong pages...
siteformedia.com/my-profile/main-menu-cr...photo-portfolio.html
Where do I correct this links from?
Thanks
Hi, Patrick.
Reason is the same. You duplicated JomSocial page links in Main menu.
I mentioned golden rule one post before. Disable this links and link in photos modules will work as gold.
Hi, Patrick.

Hi,
I am still trying to understand why I cant duplicate a URL that is also used by jomsocial.
Also, when you click on the view all videos on the videos module, it still goes to the wrong landing pages.
Is there also a way for the videos to show some thumbnail shots like before this new jomsocial/
Thanks
Patrick
Hi, Patrick.
Please read this:
documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Toolbar_Explained
JomSocial toolbar is NOT like any other menu in Joomla! because it is used to internal navigation in JomSocial.
I provided you solution: or you delete all menu items outside JomSocial toolbar menu referring to the same page or you move out from JomSocial toolbar and use Joomla! menu module.
As for your second request: please open now topic for it.
Hi,
I am still having issues with my urls.
For example the registration does not complete and many more issues pop out of no where with urls and I had to revert back and now my menus have messed up. I dont understand how alias menus and naming would work.
Can you please help me rectify this.
I have tried to reset or use the default jomsocial as main menu but am still having issues.
Many thanks
Patrick
Hi, Patrick.
I provided you with documentation that explains how toolbar works. What more can I say? All in Joomla! depends on menu item IDs: module display, privacy settings and so on. JomSocial toolbar menu items doesn't have OWN menu item ID but inherit it from parent element (usually community frontpage located outside JomSocial toolbar). So if you star multiplicating menu items that point directly to JomSocial pages Joomla will take menu item with higher menu item ID... what - if you have privacy or language restriction - will lead to navigation errors.
But your issue now is totally different. Menu items are disabled by Joomla!.
When you upgrading JomSocial by uninstalling it, menu items in JomSocial toolbar lost "connection" with component. Joomla! mark them as disabled and with notice: "Component 'com_community' does not exist". In order to fix it please follow this instruction:
- click on menu item in JomSocial menu in order to edit it
- when in edit mode don't change anything
- save
- menu item should be fixed
- do it for every JomSocial related menu items (if needed) in all other menus
Make sure that you fix ALL JomSocial related links that way ;) Especially check Main menu - I saw some manu items with that issue there.
This is just how Joomla! works. When you have menu item linked to component and then remove that component - menu item will be disabled like this by Joomla!. Even if you install component again it will come to the system with different id so menu items will still disabled. But for luck fix is easy, just follow steps I provided above.
