JomSocial Active Socialize Expired

Hi there,

I have JomSocial 3.1.0.4 and need to upgrade to 3.1.1, but it is my first time and I'm not sure I'm doing it right. Can you do it for me, or tell me how? When I unzip the folder I have 8 files; am I supposed to install each one into Joomla?

Should I upgrade these before or after
I have Joomla 3.2.2, but need to upgrade to 3.2.3.
I also need to upgrade to Socialize 1.2.5

Also, the change log says Email Activation was fixed many version ago; however, almost half of our registered users receive a broken link in their activation email.

Thank you for your help.

Hi, Rob.

0. Make a safe copy FIRST! Use Akeeba backup to prepare it.

1. Upgrade Joomla to 3.2.3 as usual
2. Install iJoomla installer from package vi Joomla instaler (install it just like any other extension
3. Go to Components -> iJoomla installer -> click on upgrade
4. Now just click next :)
5. Install plg_system_t3.v2.1.2.zip from Socialize package
6. Install socialize_template_V1.2.5.zip
7. Install mod_community_toolbar_V1.2.5.zip

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Hi Michal,

Thank you for the instructions. I see you didn't answer the question I asked at the end - why does my email activation not work? Here is the link people get in their activation email....

Please help. Many people are complaining :(

The link works when I copy and paste it here, but is dead in the email. Can I forward the email to you so you see what I mean?

I have another question, I did not use iJoomla Installer to install either JomSocial or Socialize, so is it really a good idea for me to use it now?

Hi, Rob.

Please, to make our work easier and to help other users with finding right solution - ALWAYS open ONE thread for ONE issue.

As for activation link, please try this solution: www.jomsocial.com/forum/installation/142...does-not-click#71962

iJoomla installer will make your JomSocial upgrade easier :) Socialize template you'll have to upgrade traditional way - via Joomla! installer.

Hi Michael,

Please excuse my posting two comments... still learning the ropes, but that is good to know, thank you. Thank you for the instructions also. Will give it a whirl.
