I experienced 2 weeks ago a hacker attempt. Since then I am not able to send ANY emails via Jomsocial (via Joomla directly it works)
I even installed today the latest Jomsocial version (3.1.1) but still not able to send emails.
Weird is that it confirms that it sent a message (via the Jomsocial message API) but again - no emails received.
This is going on for 6 days now.
HELP!!!!
Hi, Roland.
Could you add proper membership plans to users: michal and jomsocial123 so I could test it?
As for now I'm unable to send messages to other users when I log in with jomscoial123 credentials you provided us.
This is a serious issue: my host blocked my site again - just after the first Jomsocial registration email was sent out. I am afraid that some hackers got into the mailing script and inserted some malicious code which sends spam. Beside that I would appreciate if you could take a look: WHERE can I find the file that handles the code?
Hi, Roland.
Pleas ask you hosting provider for server logs.
Any action that occurred in the system is there. If your hosting provider blocked your site ask him to help you investigating what in the system is causing this.
File that handles emails is here: ROOT/components/com_community/libraries/mailq.php
You could also made a JomSocial system check by adding this: index.php?option=com_community&view=troubleshoots when you're in backend.
You said that email is sent so there is no issue in JomSocial.
Investigating what hacker done in your system (site overhaul) is out of scope our technical support:

Hi, Roland.
No this is just a sample text.
Please, make screen shots for files checking and for system requirements.
Michal,
I cannot make screenshots because the page(s) become too long. Please do run yourself that system check (you already have the admin access). By seeing yourself it helps also better than trying to figure out things from screenshots.
Thank you.
Hi, Roland.
1. Try to update Joomla! to current version
2. Check if emails are sent with phpmailer
3. If not change in Backend -> Global configuration -> Server -> Mail Settings from Phpmailer to SMTP and provide working SMTP credentials.
4. Check if emails are sent
Hi, Roland.
I just received email form your site. So it works but with delay.
So i advise you to ask your hosting company for assistance in this matter - why emails come with delay.
Did you send a mass email to all my users in a very bad English?!?!
-->
We are sorry for any incovenience as we run mass messeging test.
Kind regards

Well, at least the messages are sent - so it works now. Did you do any changes or my host? Not sure but in the end...it works again.
Thank you!
Hi, Roland.
Yes, I'm sorry but I had to test that feature.
No, I didn't change anything in your host as I don't have access to it.
