When starting the cronjob (internal or extarnal or called thrue a browser) it causes a 100% CPU load for the apache process that handles the cron request.
So even when i call the cronjob thrue the browser the server goes nose down.. almost

But this is rather server issue than JomSocial.
What are your server parameters?
You post php info this apply just to php on your server (what is enabled and in what version).
Cron enables video conversion or emails. Video conversion uses FFMPEG library and your CPU.
Ask your hosting provider to check server performance logs and the you'll know what process exactly takes all CPU power.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.

There should be no video's to be rendered (because the server has no ffmpeg installed so it would not work) but there was an item with an video,
Apparently in stead of an error apache starts to use 100% cpu time
