jomsical upgrade to 3.1.0.4 breaks alpha userpoints

I have just upgraded to jomsocial 3.1.0.4, and it has stopped the points system with alpha user points from working properly.
I use alpha user points, with the jomsocial rules plugin, so that users are allocated points for different things they do on the website.
It all worked perfectly until the upgrade.
At the moment I am still able to allocate points to users as bonus points or custom points from within the alphauser points component, but points are not allocated automatically when a user does something on the site.

Can you help please!

php 5.4.17
mysql - 5.6.14-56
alpha user points - 1.9.3(latest)

Hi Tom,

Have you contacted the alpha userpoints? seems that should update their plugin and make sure support with the latest Jomsocial version.
