Hi Chris,

I have enclosed the FTP info.

Linda

Hi Chris,

I have downloaded the files.

What I mean is I cannot find the files via FTP to use the files I downloaded to replace it.

When I login to FTP and I can see /pulic_html and then which file I can find folders "controllers" and "helpers"?

HI, Linda.

If you downloaded the patch, unzip it and via ftp copy them to:

ROOT/pulic_html/your_folder_with_joomla/components/com_community

If you not sure what folder is your Joomla! folder then in backend System -> System informations -> Configuration file and look for tmp or log folders. There will be path to that folders. both of them are in main Joomla! folder.

I entered to FTP using credentials you provided... but there is no JomSocial in files structure. Are you sure that this are right credentials?

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

The IP is not correct and I have updated. Can you see now via FTP?

I can see the following. Should I just downloaded the patch, unzip it and via ftp copy them to:

ROOT/pulic_html/components/com_community

Hi, Linda.

There are two ways to apply patch:

1. Uploading a patch files

a. Download a patch package
b. Unzip it and upload to: public_html/components/com_community

Patch will only cover security holes - you'll be safe, but it will not upgrade JomSocial to current version (3..1.0.4).

2. Upgrading JomSocial installation via iJoomla-Installer-Updater.

You don't have it in your installation yet.
You can download it with full JomSocial package here:
www.jomsocial.com/component/digistore/licenses
And click: Download.
Unzip package and install iJoomla-Installer-Updater.zip via Joomla! Installer.
In backend Components -> iJoomla Installer
Enter license number (you can find it in first column here: www.jomsocial.com/component/digistore/licenses )

After that simply click to update.

I recommend the second way as you'll not only apply security patch but also latest bugfixes. And you will always know that there is an update.

My current jomsocial version is 3.1.0.1.

Should I apply patch first and then upgrade?

If I upgrade, does it change my current setting?

How can I upgrade without change my current setting of the website?

Hi, Linda.

If you decide to upgrade JomSocial using 2nd method you don't have to apply patch (it will be applied along with upgrade).
No, it will no change your current settings.
Only if you made customizations in core files - they will be overwritten.

Always make safe copy before any major change or upgrade e.g using Akeeba backup.

I have looked at this link and tried to upgrade but it did not work.

documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Upgrade..._3.0.x_on_Joomla_2.5

I have made the backup.

Could you help to upgrade it to 3..1.0.4.?

Hi, Linda.

Done :)

I installed two new extensions:

Akeeba backup - you can create a safe copy with this extensions (just: Components -> Akeeba backup -> Backup now (icon) -> Backup now (button at the bottom).

iJoomla Instaler - Components -> iJoomla installer -> and click Upgrade button
