Can you please confirm Whether it is a mime type or Mime Magic so That I can assist you in a better way.

For mime type you can enable it right from Cpanel >> Advanced >> MIME Types

For Mime magic info we have to recompile with apache.

Please check and let us know.

Is it necessary and required to install "mime library"?

As per the link www.php.net/manual/en/mime-magic.installation.php

the mimetype extensions has-been removed from PHP 5.3.0 and you are using 5.3.27

and php on your server is Already complied With the option "with-mime-magic"

You need to proceed with installation if getting any errors and then consult with vendor script.

If They suggest to manually install any module then you will need to ask your system administrator installations as third party support is out of our scope.

I wanted to explain the situation regarding your issue. Our component requires the mime library to be installed on any server that has Jomsocial installed on it. documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/System_Requirements . If your server doesn't, then you would need to install the library yourself or use a server technician to do it for you. www.jomsocial.com/jomsocial-developers

We are looking at removing this library in future versions but at the moment it is still required and as the support technician from Cpanel explained to you your version of php will need to have the library manually installed.

Server configuration and support is outside the scope of our support, So until mime is installed and working then we would be unable to assist further with this issue

The security issue should be fixed in version 3.1.0.4, please you update your Jomsocial from ijoomla installer.
