I have version 2.6.2 of Jomsocial, I wonder if I can use the same procedure to upgrade from version 2.8.x to version 3.1.x of Jomsocial?

Or do I need to first migrate the version 2.8.x to 3.1.x then migrate to the Jomsocial?

thank you

My Joomla is 2.5.x.

After I update Jomsocial and Joomla can upgrade to version 3 without any problems?

Hi,

If you're upgrading from an older JS version like 2.6 then yes. The procedure looks like that:
- BACKUP
- uninstall 2.6
- install 2.8
- uninstall 2.8
- install 3.0
- uninstall 3.0
- install Latest 3.1.0.1 version

Yes you can upgrade to J!3 too. However keep in mind that other components you have may not be J!3 ready.

Please see this: documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Getting_Started_Documentation there are docs on upgrading and migration.

I hope that helps.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements: bit.ly/WyZyrL
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job: bit.ly/10OzfPN
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
