I've checked your site and it seems that the dropdowns work fine. As for the redirect to a 404 page after logout, I've configured the jomsocial redirect plugin to point to your homepage upon logout or wrong login.

The fact that those dropdowns don't look great and that the text isn't contained is caused by your custom joomla template which overrides JomSocial's css. Please consult that templates developer to correct that.
