Still in the process of getting our Jomsocial site set up, and one thing we've noticed...whenever we click on a profile, album link, etc. on the frontpage activity stream, it always opens up a new window. How can we change this in order for it to navigate within the parent window, instead? After just a few clicks, we have a bunch of windows open, which is annoying.

You can configure it via Jomsocial Registration->Site->Open link in new tab, change to No

I can't find that...I'm in the Jomsocial component, and there is no Registration menu item. When I go to the Site menu section, there are some registration options, but none titled "Open Link in New Tab."
