installation does not go forward

hi,
I need to know why the installation of JomSocial remains in 'waiting' during the 'Unpacking files' without going forward.
I'm trying to install JomSocial localhost to test it before putting it into production.
the installation is vicolata to the domain? that is why the installation is not successful?
