I upgraded JS from 2.8 to 3.0 (current/latest version).
Since then the registration process was corrupt: after step one the user couldn't proceed to step 2 (profile fields).
After several hours I figured out that a MYSQL error message caused the issue.

Disabling this line solves the issue.,
I have no clue if disabling it has any negative effects but that's the only way I made the registration run again.

Please confirm if this is a safe solution and also WHY does the MYSQL line causes the system to crash.
