I've since made full upgrades/patches, running latest versions but issue still remains...
joomla 3.2.1
jomsoc 3.1

when logged in and user goes to edit their profile, they encounter following fatal error when they save...
Fatal error: Class 'CInput' not found in /var/www/components/com_community/libraries/core.php on line 315

i looked at core.php and tried to troubleshoot this myself, it seems to be a bug???

Hi Simply.

I don't think it's a bug, since it's not happening on our community page for istance, I believe it can be caused by some other extension, so I suggest to set your site under maintenance mode, and try to disable all extensions exept of those listed below also try to switch to default Joomla/JomSocial template, in such way you should be able to track this problematic extension. You can also try to download whole page on your hdd and create an copy of it on some dev domain, and there disable all extensions.

that does not sound straightforward. I think i have nearly 200 extensions and i'm not sure how to proceed.
i have all latest upgrades and using 'protostar'. I'm using 'jomsocial profile types' extension but this has not casued issue before.

the fatal error with 'core.php', sounds similar to other bugs that happened previously, eg. 'delete profile' fatal error that fixed itself with recent ugrade.

i provided my admin details previously, if you could take a look and see if i've any glaring mistakes with my setup i'd be grateful.

Since you've latest JomSocial release, and default Joomla template and this problem does't occurs on our community page for instance, then it've to be caused by other extensions. Since like I said, it's not occuring on our community page or even demo page. Could you maybe try to replicate this problem on some fresh Joomla and JomSocial site?

I've disabled all the extensions i've added but the problem remains... it is very hard to troubleshoot when jomsocial/joomla seems to be very unstable. Since I've begun using it 5 months ago, it's one bug/problem after another.. Below is a list of extensions i've disable trying to pinpoint source of fatal error but no joy

disabling all the extensions except the ones below as you suggested earlier takes the entire site down, every page displays "404 Component not found"

i'm not sure how those instructions are supposed to be implemented.

hallelujah.....i think i finally fixed the issue...

there was no problem with joomla installed latest version. The issue was caused by still running jomsocial 3.1.... i was trying just implement patch as per instructions here:
How to apply patch files: documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Updating

what fixed issue was downloading and doing a fresh install/upgrade to jomsocial 3.1.0.1 ....which was easer than trying to fix with a patch
