Hi, Just purchased Jomsocial Professional and trying to install (com_community_pro_3.1.0.1) but got the above error while trying to upload package zip file using Extension manager.

My system version:
Joomla version: 3.2.1
PHP 5.3.21
mysql Ver 5.1.72
Temporary Tables - the database user has the privilege to create temporary tables. - YES

also, I spoke to the host server provider and they checked all the components and they seem ok:
GD library - at least v1.8 with libjpeg to process images.
cURL library - for Video Linking and Facebook Connect
zip
fsockopen - for Facebook Connect
mime library

oh, one more thing. I purchased Professional package for 1 site support only. The domain name is set but the actual installation of the test drive is under a directory i.e.
support domain: mysite.com;
Domains you wish to install this product on: mysite.com/testfolder/
Could this be an issue?

I am new to Joomla (although I have used wordpress for sometime now) - this is the first time I've tried to use Joomla and so I may ask you daft questions... please be patient with me. Thanks!

thanks!

Hi there.

Could you provide us with some temporary back-end/ftp access so we could investigate this properly, please add it to the site info box which is viewable only by moderators?

You'd better to have a check of your php configuration (e.g. php.ini). I had the same problem, and found the value of upload_max_filesize and max_execution_time are too small.

Also, I suggestion JomSocial Develop Team change the order to check the server. It's a little strange to have a check after the uploading and installation (though it's not finished). Why not check the server first?

Thank you Derek! Configuration of these in my php.ini was small too. I changed them and the component installed OK.
Thanks for your help! Have a lovely Christmas!!
