How to create private group through PHP?

Hello,

Our JomSocial installation is okay and it works fine.
But as we have a custom Breezing Form for our users sign up, I would like, in our custom controller of our custom component, to create directly a closed group and add the current user through PHP method calls.
And also create, find add others users in those groups.
I already use the standard Joomla! framework to create and modify users.

Best,
Raphael

HI, Raphael.

Thank you for contacting us.
I'm sorry but we don't provide customization nor developing services.
If you want to add that feature to your installation - please, consider to hire a professional developer who could help you.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

HI, Severine.

Yes, you may but note that this will be a core hack. Core hacks are not recommended nor supported as they may not working with future JomSocial releases and/or cause issues that won't be not supported. Users with core files hack often refuse to upgrade their installation to keep those hacks and they are stuck with outdated and unsupported versions. Also, core hack will be overwritten during upgrade.

Hi Michal,
I understand if we use JPATH_ROOT.'/components/com_community/libraries/, we will create and maintain a homemade dedicated helper in our component .
It will aggregate all the method calls to your API.
As we do not have any other solution to really integrated the amazing features of Jomsocial in our workflows, it's okay.
We will test in our development and testing environments every Jomsocial updates and upgrades before changing anything in production.
