Hi!
1- I wonder how to change an information in the notification mail that jomsocial sends to everyone, when someone in a group creates an event:

The XXXX Group has just created XXXXX Event.

I would like to have the person's name in place of the group's name.

2- I would like to add description of the event within this mail.
3- And maybe the i'm going button if possible

Thank you

Regards

Hi, Miran.

Thank you for contacting us.
Most of our emails use language constants so all you need will be just to customize such a constant.
To do that you'll need to use Joomla! language override feature: documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Changin...gle_Sentence_or_Word

Just search certain phrase.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Hi Michal
And thank you for your answer!

I just don't know in which file i have to find the phrase to change and how to ask the system to replace it with the user (who posted the event) name...

I found this line in the en-GB.com_cimmunity.ini language file

COM_COMMUNITY_EMAIL_GROUP_EVENT="Hi {target},\n\n%1$s Group just added a new event.\n\nSubject: %2$s\n\nView the event:\n\n{url}\n\nHave a nice day!"

But i wonder how to modify it in order to

1- replace group name by the user name
2- add some more information about the event

Hi, Miran.

That won't be easy as constant uses placeholders e.g %1$. Placeholders load data specified in variable. Not all data are called there. In this case there is only group name and event name. You can't add or replace placeholders unless they have something to load - there is a variable that placeholder could refer to. Sure there is an option to add more data but this will require to hack core file.

Core hacks are not recommended nor supported as they may not working with future JomSocial releases and/or cause issues that won't be not supported. Users with core files hack often refuse to upgrade their installation to keep those hacks and they are stuck with outdated and unsupported versions. Also, core hack will be overwritten during upgrade.

Hi Michal
I understand it
What a pity to not be able to simply customize the mail models as we can do in other components...

HI, Miran.

Actually you can do that... but not in an easy way.
This is something we need to think about in future development of JS. ;)
Please, post a feature request here: www.jomsocial.com/uservoice
