Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
JS4.2: line breaks made in discussions not respected in activity streams
line breaks inserted in group discussions are not respected in group and main activity streams. While the text is showing with linebreaks on the discussion page, the same text on group and main activity stream is displayed without linebreaks, in one big block. So, the post in activity streams are quite difficult to read.
STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1 post discussion in group, including linebreaks

RESULT
posting shows with linebreaks on discussion page
linebreaks are not respected in group and main activity stream
difficult to read
EXPECTED RESULT
postings are shown correctly (with linebreaks) in group and main activity stream.
I'm sorry but I can't replicate your issue.
Just posted in one of your groups:

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
correction: my post relates to group discussions, not posts on group wall.
if someone starts (comments on) a discussion and enters linebreaks, the linebreaks are not showing in group (and main) activity stream.
Attachment 1: How the post shows on the discussion page (with linebreaks).
Attachment 2: How the post shows on group activity wall (and also main activity wall).

PS: Can you please use the private group "test" for testing? Thanks.
This is correct as this is just comment and it even doesn't show whole text (you may set how much text is displayed).
It's rather a preview than a regular post.
So yes, this is expected.
