Changing Group Layout

ISSUE SUMMARY:
Newbie question - how do i change the layout of the sidebar in Groups please? (eg Discussions, Announcements, Members, Events tabs). I want to show each in a single column with the top item the videos from the group.

hi, Andy.

Group template is in this file:

ROOT/components/com_community/templates/jomsocial/layouts/groups/single.php

You need to copy it to:

ROOT/templates/your-template/html/com_community/layouts/groups (if you don't have those folders - feel free to create them)

Then edit it and change it layout.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

And how you want it? :) I thought that you know at least basics of php and html if you ask which file to edit :)
If you edit the file you'll see whole group page layout.
Just redesign it as you like it. Add or move html elements, style them with css.
If you're not sure how to do it - please, consider to hire a professional developer.

By editing (creating override) of this file: ROOT/components/com_community/templates/jomsocial/layouts/groups/single.php

We don't support customizations, please, read our Support Policy I linked above, especially remarks at page bottom.
We can't style or rebuild layout for you... or teach you how to change it. It will be like developing your site as you just copy/paste code that as provided. No, sorry, we don't do that. If you don't know how to do it... you should hire someone that will do it for you.
