JomSocial Expired

JS VERSION: 4.1.3

ISSUE SUMMARY:

Currently the JS Groups module allows only for the display of all groups, my groups or featured groups. I'd like to make more use of the groups category feature and have this module display groups from specific categories only.

Could you advise on how I would change this module to display groups from specific categories?

It may help that I've used a nesting system to organise group categories. If I could select a parent category and display all subcategories this would complete the solution.

Thanks.

Hi.

This can be done. You'll need to use alternative layouts feature: www.ostraining.com/blog/joomla/alternative-layouts-for-modules/
Then you'll need to customize module template with php condition that only if group belongs to certain category it may be displayed by foreach loop.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
