Hi there,
thanks for helping me sorting in alphabetical order my groups (even if the group box still lists groups in a different mode).

another question: i have to put just before the group feed a text box explaining what to insert into the comment box. just an example to show hot to insert photos and videos.
is there any module or solution that i can use to put this box just up over the feed ?
thanks in advance.

Hi, Virgilio.

You'll need to create new module position in group template.

Copy this file:

ROOT/components/com_community/templates/default/groups.viewgroup.php

to:

ROOT/templates/your-template/html/com_community (if you don't have "html" or "com_community" folders, feel free to create them)

And around line 239, right after <div class="cMain"> add:

<?php $this->renderModules( 'position-name' ); ?>

Replace "position-name" with something more suitable.

Now install this extension: extensions.joomla.org/extensions/style-a...les-management/10307
It will allow you to display module only on certain URL (check additional tab while editing module -> Assignment.

Then assign to this module position custom html module and set URL so module will be displayed for certain group only.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

hi,
thanks for helping.

i followed all your instructions (even create a new folder in templates area) but no module shows up in the back end and even in front (of course). maybe i'm not able to create a new module position...

The advanced module manager extension that you suggested was previously installed to resolve the problem and i will use it to choose which textbook will appear in specific group. my problem is to "simply" put a module before feed in group stream. I think that with the new code you suggested i 'm at final step but still not resolving. please help.

thanks

Hi, Virgilio.

If you followed my instruction, everything should be fine. Position name MUST BE TYPED IN it will not show up on position list when you edit module. Built-in positions (and you created one) are not displayed there.

yes.
you're right.
in fact i force the name into position by typing the name (previously put into code) in the blank box.
i forgot to mention that the layout is built under tigra component and the joomla template is a YOO theme.
I looked for the module into the template module configuration but my custom one doesn't show up.
maybe this is why it doesn't show up ??
thanks

Hi, Virgilio.

Aaaa, Tigra you say...I think it shouldn do any difference but not sure, don't use Tigra.
Do like this: copy file I mentioned and type "xxxx" check if this rough modification shows up. If yes, override works.
If not... I'll take look at Monday.
